D9531 and D9537 are rostered to work 'top and tail' as part of the Paddington Bear Explorer Day on Wednesday 8th of April.

Drive D9531 'Ernest' at the ELR! Monday 29th of June, pulling a rake of Air or Vacuum braked coaches. More details here

D9531 Rebuild and Restoration 1997-2012
The project to rebuild and restore 'Ernest' has been a long one. D9531 was dismantled down to bare frames, refurbished and rebuilt. The 15 year project and ongoing maintenance is documented in the restoration section of the website.
